Discover the Healing Power of Therapeutic Arts

Solight Studios is a grass roots community organization dedicated to bringing therapeutic arts to the community. We aim to help people heal from trauma, PTSD, addiction, and mental health struggles by processing their lived experiences through movement, storytelling, art, music, writing, and more. Our goal is to provide a brave space for connection, creativity and growth.

UPCOMING WORKSHOP

Healing Dolls: As A Cherished Tradition

Healing dolls have been a long practiced wisdom tradition since time immemorial. They have been passed down in our family lines from grandmothers to grandchildren, usually accompanied by a story. These magical little dolls are a comforting, tangible way to connect with our cultural lineage but also have the added benefit of holding powers to heal various ailments, be it physical, mental, or spiritual. We invite you to delve into this ancient art and be present in the healing journey that unfolds for you as you create a doll with the intent to mend something in your life and reconnect to your own ancient wisdom.

During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to craft your very own healing doll, as well as other guided projects.

Class is limited to 12 people.

We will meet online Monday night starting 9/4/23. At 7pm - 9pm pst

$22 per class. Sliding scale if requested

"For me, therapeutic art is not about making something to hang on the wall, it is about expression, exploration and freedom. When we give ourselves room to find out what is within us, we are often surprised at what is uncovered in the process...this is about discovering who we are on the deepest levels, it reveals things to us that our unconscious mind was holding, we find moments of joy and deep pain, frustration and inspiration and as we continue to work through it, we create a tangible record of that process, pulling out the blockages that are preventing our growth and movement forward...while also having fun and not taking ourselves too seriously!"
